Product Images with Qwen Image: From Concept to Catalog
Create useful product-image briefs while preserving shape, labels, scale, and material accuracy.

There are two very different product-image tasks: inventing a concept and presenting an existing item. A concept can explore a new bottle shape. A catalog image must represent the bottle that a customer will receive. Decide which task you are doing before selecting generation or editing.
Start with an approved reference
For an existing product, use a clear photograph with an unobstructed silhouette. List the details that must survive: cap shape, label wording, material, number of buttons, and relative proportions. An editing-capable endpoint is necessary when you need to supply that photo; a text-only generator cannot take the same reference input.
Qwen-Image-Edit-2511 is one documented editing checkpoint. Check whether your chosen service actually exposes reference-image editing before planning a production workflow around it.
Use a narrow scene brief
Try this original instruction with a suitable product reference:
Place the reference ceramic cup on a pale stone kitchen counter beside a softly lit window. Preserve the cup's silhouette, handle shape, glaze color, and existing markings. Keep the full cup visible. Add a natural contact shadow. Background objects should be distant and softly blurred.
Generate a neutral studio version before a complicated lifestyle scene. It is easier to spot shape changes on a plain background. Once the product is approved, experiment with context while keeping the same reference and preservation instructions.
Review the item, then the atmosphere
Check the outline against the source. Look closely at handles, transparent edges, packaging seams, and labels. Next inspect shadows and reflections: a floating object or a reflection that contradicts its shape can undermine the whole image. Finally, compare color with the original under similar viewing conditions.
Reject attractive results that silently alter the item. For exact catalog work, retaining the original product pixels and compositing a new background may be a more reliable finishing step than accepting a full generative redraw.
Build a small reusable set
Plan a hero image, a detail view, and one lifestyle image around the same approved reference. Export for the actual storefront dimensions and inspect the crops. Keep concept images separate from images representing an available product, and describe them accordingly in your asset library.
For a new product concept, start with the image generator. If you already have a product photograph, read our image-editing guide before choosing an editing-capable tool. Use the prompt library to explore scene ideas.
